Falcom + PhyreEngine?
As I posted on twitter:

This edit was made on 5/4/2010 from an IP located in Brazil. I'm still digging to see if I can find anymore evidence or an actual source *other* than wikipedia. It just seems that all the other blogs I'm finding are pointing to this as well.

Anyhow... I mentioned Falcom in the first post. We'll see if they confirm/deny this rumor.

Special Page Updated
Aisha and Chester now have interviews posted.

MonaMonaQ is now open as well.
This is much like the quest pages from the Ys Portal site. This week's is to count how many Mona's are *different* from the one posted. Select the red button once you have your answer, select your answer, then enter your email address.

Answers will be posted at the end of the contest.

Five winners from the contest will be selected from a raffle of the correct answers, and will receive packets of candy.

Character Page Updated
Chester is added to the Ys side.
"The white knight who serves Lord McGuire in the Felghana region. He is the descendant of Genos, who sealed away the demon lord Galvaran. He was trained by the legendary mercenary, Berhardt, along with Dogi, and is a master at using two swords."

Support Characters Updated:
Sigroon and Elena (wait, what?) --and Elena has the Brave Sword. What?
Check it out for yourself, even.

World Page Updated
Valestein Castle is now added as a stage.

--on a note outside of the updates to the site, there was another magazine released with scans this week.

These scans confirm the following information:

**Listed characters, according to the article:
Ys: Adol, Aisha, Dogi, Geis, Mishera, Crshe, and Elk
Sora no Kiseki: Estelle, Klose, Joshua, Tita, Olivier, Agate, Loewe, and Renne

**You can do one of the follow:
1 vs 1 battles, 2 vs 2 team battles, 1 vs 3 battles

4koma started in Dengeki Maoh, as well as the start of the trading card game (Victory Spark- see earlier entries)

A character from Zero no Kiseki should be available- from the silhouette in the scan, it appears to be Lloyd Bannings.

Based on the Ys Seven system, along with jumping added in, and memorable locations will be available as battlefields.

** Battle Modes:
Free Mode: Allows you to pick a character and stage and just have a battle.
Arcade Mode: Get a chain of battles for a story for a character- who will be their last battle?
Network Battle: Four player action over adhoc mode.
Story Mode: A single player full voice adventure with the selection of a particular character.

Story Mode has full voice acting.
Cast actors include:
Kusao Takeshi
Genda Tessho
Itou Kentarou
Saiga Mitsuki
Koyasu Takehito
Midorikawa Hikaru
Minaguchi Yuuko
Shindou Naomi
Ishida Akira

Support Characters provide status upgrades-
This section confirms Lilia (Ys II) and Gilbert (Sora no Kiseki) as status characters.

This same image also shows Estelle using Taikyoukurin on Adol (omg) and Renne calling out Patel-Matel on Adol. Adol's so abused! :(

All of these images are now included in the gallery, located here.

More Details on the Partnership and Other Things
Anyone on XSEED's mailing list has received the following email:

We are pleased to announce a wide-ranging partnership with developer and publisher Nihon Falcom, one of Japan's most well-respected development studios, to bring the three latest installments in the long-running Ys franchise: Ys SEVEN, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chronicles, to the PSP system in North America. In addition, the deal will allow XSEED Games to release the next three chapters in Falcom's popular The Legend of Heroes series, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy (known as the Sora no Kiseki trilogy in Japan), to the North American market on the PSP system. All six titles were developed by one of Japan's most well-admired and longest-running independent-minded studios, Falcom, which has been a pioneer of the RPG genre since their first release in 1983.

Under the terms of the partnership, XSEED Games retains exclusive North American publishing and distribution rights to multiple upcoming iterations of the Ys and The Legend of Heroes series, starting with Ys SEVEN, exclusively for the PSP system.

And the following about Ys Seven:

Ys SEVEN is the latest installment in the long-running Ys series which first debuted on PC in 1987. This is the first iteration to be built specifically for the PSP system, taking full advantage of the widescreen format and hardware for beautiful graphics and virtually no loadtimes. The battle system consists of a three-member battle party with enemies engaged on the field map in real-time for fast-paced combat. Old fans of the series and new players alike will be immersed into the rich vibrant world containing over 30 hours of gameplay.

Currently in production, Ys SEVEN will be the first Falcom project from the announced line up released in North America by XSEED Games for the PSP system in late summer 2010. XSEED Games will release more product information and plans on each title in the coming months.

Silicon Era also posted an interview with Toshihiro Kondo, Falcom's president, over Ys Seven. This includes quite a bit of information. This interview will continue on Monday with them talking about Trails in the Sky/Sora no Kiseki. Link is at the bottom, of course.

I've also made some changes to the menu on the right, with some of the tentative release times for the XSEED-Falcom games. I'm also about to add more links for XSEED, and adjust the official links and stuff. Since it's getting a bit bloated. :o

XSEED and Falcom partnership
I will make the rest of my updates since it is Friday later. And I'm still celebrating my graduation.

However, this is big enough news that I should make this post now. :o

XSEED is releasing Ys Seven, Ys I*II Chronicles, Ys: Oath in Felghana, and the Sora no Kiseki trilogy, now being called The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.

The article on RPGamer includes the following information:

RPGamer: Do you have a current timeline for releasing these titles? At least a release order perhaps?
Ken Berry: Ys SEVEN is scheduled for a late summer release, and that will be followed by Ys: The Oath in Felghana by the end of this year. Early next year will see Ys I&II Chronicles and then The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (Sora no Kiseki FC). SC will obviously need a fair amount of time to complete after the release of the first Trails in the Sky.

Status and Update and Stuff
I did a tiny update to the site. See if you can find it.

I've completed three of my four final projects. I should be back to updating this page in a week.

Which is good- because it's Golden Week. Very little happens during Golden Week.

I'll probably be back to work here once I graduate on the 13th.

As always, I'll do my best to keep the twitter up to date. I just got a phone that can read Japanese text, so I can probably update my tweets at all times as long as my phone is on me.

Also. Check out the Ys vs Sora no Kiseki website. Is it wrong that I'm very hyped for this game? :D

Have a great week, everyone! Good luck to those getting ready (or already in, at least) finals!

NipponIchi and Falcom? What?

That picture, according to Falcom's twitter, is the president of Nippon Ichi meeting with the president of Falcom.

This could be big.
