Ao no Kiseki wins a Playstation User’s Choice Award!

Lastnight was the Sony Playstation Awards. They had given out Gold Awards, a Quadruple Platinum Award (4,000,000 copies sold! My goodness, Monster Hunter Portable 3!), the User’s Choice Awards, the World Award, and the PS Store Special Award.

Nihon Falcom has once again walked away with one of the User’s Choice Awards. Last year, they received one for Zero no Kiseki, this year they got one for Ao no Kiseki. Congratulations!

All of the winners of the User’s Choice Awards are:
Call of Duty Black Ops (Square Enix, PS3) *
Gran Turismo 5 (Sony, PS3)
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Capcom, PSP)
Catherine (Index, PS3)
Dynasty Warriors 6 (Tecmo Koei, PS3)
Atelier Meruru (Gust, PS3)
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Square Enix, PS3) *
Tales of Xillia (Bandai-Namco, PS3)
Dark Souls (From Software, PS3)
The Legend of Heroes Ao no Kiseki (Falcom, PSP)

(* Square-Enix is the publisher for the Call of Duty games in Japan, as a note.)

Congratulations to Falcom, once again!

  1. I heard a little bit about this on 2ch, but I couldn’t make out any of the names involved there.

Having said that: Good for Falcom! A great way to end 2011 for them.

On a side note, that is a lot of Call of Duty. It’s hard not to think that their massive worldwide sales don’t play some factor in their inclusion here. Not that they aren’t enjoyable, it’s just, they do lack soul.

    Anyways, thanks for the summary!

    1. They had incredible numbers too on their financial reports. 2011 really was an amazing year for Falcom.

I also know that Modern Warfare is ridiculously popular in Japan. I don’t see it, but then again, I’m not as big an FPS fan as I am other games.
