NIS America to Release Ys VIII in English to PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Steam in Fall 2017

While everyone is waiting for Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana to be released to the PlayStation 4 this year in May, NIS America has announced at the press event tonight that they will be releasing the game in English with dual language voices- both English and Japanese- as well as a French language version.

While the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions are what we’ve seen in Japan, they are also releasing it to Steam. At the press release, it was stated that they have committed to releasing games to Steam after the success of Disgaea 2 on the platform.

From the NIS America sales sheet, posted on Atlus.com:

Ys returns with a brand new adventure for the first time in 8 years! Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and the other shipwrecked passengers he rescues form a village to challenge fearsome beasts and mysterious ruins on the isolated island. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in a unknown world.

Join Adol as he unravels the riddle of the cursed isle and the blue-haired maiden Dana in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA.

Unravel the mystery of the blue-haired maiden Dana through her own, unique gameplay segments.

It Takes a Village

Rescue your fellow shipwrecked passengers and bring them to your village where they will provide valuable services.

Switch characters on the fly as you battle ferocious foes in lightning-fast combat.
